Infineon Technologies AG, a global semiconductor manufacturer focused on power systems and IoT, has announced its acquisition of C2i Semiconductors, a Bangalore, India-based developer of software-defined multiphase controllers and smart power stages for AI data center applications. The acquisition will add C2i Semiconductors’ digital power management and system-level power architecture capabilities to Infineon’s existing portfolio of power semiconductors and power systems. C2i’s technology is designed to support power delivery from grid to core for AI servers and high-performance computing platforms, including next-generation vertical power delivery architectures and Substrate Integrated Voltage Regulators, or SIVR.
The transaction is expected to close during the third quarter of calendar year 2026.

Software-defined power architectures combine power semiconductors with digital control and software algorithms to manage power conversion, regulation and system performance in real time. The technology is becoming increasingly important for AI data centers, where processors can generate rapidly changing power demands. Power delivery systems must respond to load fluctuations while maintaining system stability, reducing power losses and supporting increasing processor power densities. C2i Semiconductors takes a system-level approach to power delivery designed to enable more adaptive power architectures across AI infrastructure. Its capabilities will complement Infineon’s portfolio of silicon, silicon carbide and gallium nitride power semiconductor technologies, as well as the company’s work in vertical power delivery.
